🍂 A Gentle Intentional Fall Reset 🍂

🍂 A Gentle Intentional Fall Reset 🍂

Dahlia Witt

As we shift out of summer into Fall I can feel the pace starting to slow down around our home. Our busiest season of by far summer time. At the end of every summer my home can just feel “off”. It’s the little things that have just been left undone. The clutter and chaos of summer fun. When our homes are in this state as moms we can feel so stressed out and drained of energy. Below I will include an 8 step home reset that is gentle and slow paced but intentional. It can be done in 7-8 days but remember this is not a sprint. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Simply taking 1-2 hours of time over 6-8 days, you can totally reset your home and shift that overwhelming feeling.

🍂Step One (or Day One): The Surface Sweep

Put away anything that doesn’t belong in your kitchen, living room and bedroom. Wipe down all surface areas. Clearing surface areas instantly helps quiet any chaos in my mind personally by creating visual peace!

🍂 Step Two (or Day Two): The Forgotten Laundry

Wash robes, pot holders, curtains, throws, bed sheets and towels today. Now this one takes more time so do this on a day you know you will not be as busy.  Spray all your other linens like throw pillows, chairs and couches with an essential oil spray. (Witty Acres Plug 😘 our room sprays are great for this, always test in a small area before doing a new fabric!)

🍂 Step Three (or day Three): Mirrors & Windows

Wipe down all mirrors and windows today. Open the windows if you can today and let the fresh air in. Now we are not doing a deep clean of the windows today just a quick clean.

🍂Step Four (or day Four): Dusty Corners

Clean under furniture, under the beds, behind doors, and in that junk drawer. Don’t forget the cobwebs that may have formed in the corners of the room.

🍂Step Five (or Day Five): Kitchen Refresh

The kitchen is the heart of the home. Toss expired items, wipe down shelves, and do a quick wipe down of cabinets. Make a list of things you need to use up soon and a list of things you need to restock.

🍂 Step Six (or Day Six): The Final Reset

Play your favorite music playlist, light a candle, diffuse some essential oils, or simmer some herbs since it is fall after all. Now say a prayer and walk through every room in your home saying a prayer over it and Thank God for it! Anoint each space as you go through. See your home for what it is: a blessing and haven!

🍂 Final Thoughts

Now this is a go at your own pace list. Break it up however needed. Doing this always makes me “fall” in love with my home all over again! It feels like…me giving myself grace for all that got pushed off or neglected during summer. It helps me to slow down and enjoy the calmness that seems to come with fall.
